190-last day of injection on round 1
Its funny, I feel sort of apprehensive about getting off the VLCD and going to Phase 3 next week. I know what I’m going to eat on Phase 3, but there is an odd comfort in only having very limited food choices. Less chances to screw up, I guess. At the same time, I’m really having a hard time keeping to the protocol. My subconscious *knows* that Phase 3 is coming up, and it is drooling for bacon, cheese, eggs and more and different veggies.
It looks like I’ll have a bit of hCG left over, and I’m considering doing just one more day, if only to use up the meds. That would put my start of P3 back to Tuesday, February 17. Then I’ll note my LIW (last injection weight), and strive to maintain within 2 lbs above or below that for the next 6 weeks. I’m actually going more than 6 weeks, since in mid-April I’ll be running the Mazer Cup International mead competition in Denver and will be judging meads (definitely *not* on the diet, LOL), and right after that is my birthday on April 24. I plan to start my next round of injections and my load on that day, so I can snarf down all the yummy goodness I want for My Day. Then off to Round 2 of 40 injections. With luck, I’ll be down 50 lbs altogether by July when I take my daughter to Virginia Beach for a week.
So far I’ve lost just under 22 lbs. Not bad, considering that I’ve *always* been resistant to losing weight, and that this is my first round and I’m experimenting with the foods that work best for me. I think I’ll likely get to 25 lbs by the time I switch over, giving me just over .5 lbs a day on the protocol. Since that is the average for women (men, of course, average more, the bastards), I feel successful. Typically I’m *below* the curve, so its nice to be on it!!
I cheated a bit two days ago. A buddy of mine came over, and we got to talking and having a few drinks, and I ended up drinking 4 rum and Diet Cokes. Next day, I was up 1.5 lbs, ick. However, today I’m back down a lb, so it cost me a day, but nothing I can’t live with.
I find that drinking copious amounts of my hot chai every day helps with hunger, even though mine is mostly psychological, and I’m spreading my food out so I’m eating every couple hours. I think I’m beginning to go into immunity, because for the first time since I started this (except for the first couple days because I didn’t load enough), I’m beginning to have real hunger, and find that the non-allowed foods in the fridge are really starting to bother me, where they didn’t before.
Today is the first day of stabilization. For breakfast I ate 3 eggs with 1/4 cup shredded cheese, and 4 pieces of bacon. That is more calories in *one meal* than I would have in a whole day!! Weird!
So, now we see if I can stabilize….
