Preparing for the Diet

  1. Download Pounds and Inches, and read it! This document will be your bible, and it will answer many of your questions about the program.
  2. Start to eat clean now. Eat good fats like olive oil and coconut oil, grass-fed beef and organic chicken and wild-caught fish, whole grains, and lots of veggies. The cleaner you eat now, the less detox symptoms like headaches and body aches you'll have when you start the protocol.
  3. Figure out what you're going to eat for the load, the 2 days of gorging before you start the low calorie portion of the protocol. You want to load up on high-fat items, rather than high-carb items.
  4. Remember that this is a multi-stage process consisting of the low calorie portion, maintenance, and resting your body. Without all these done properly, you'll have long-term problems keeping the weight off.
  5. Prepare your *mind*. This is not a diet. This is a medical prescription that happens to include food. So cheating on the low calorie portion changes the prescription, and thus changes the results. Make up your mind that for 43 days you WILL NOT CHEAT. You may get hungry, but steel your mind, and remember, you won't starve to death.


Cleansing is an optional process. Kevin Trudeau recommends it, but it is *not* part of the original protocol developed by Dr. Simeons.

If you choose to do a cleansing period before starting the hCG protocol, here are some brief tips:

  • Drink a large glass of water immediately in the morning.

  • Drink a colon cleanse product such as Dr. Natura (http://www.drnatura.com).

  • Take apple cider vinegar (1 tsp-1tbsp in water) daily.

  • Take whole food supplement (green food).

  • Take coral calcium.

  • Eat breakfast with digestive enzymes.

  • Mid morning snack includes an apple and a cup of green tea.

  • Before lunch take apple cider vinegar  (1 tsp-1tbsp in water) and a teaspoon of coconut oil.

  • Eat lunch with digestive enzymes, apple or grapefruit and a salad

  • Mid afternoon have an apple and a cup of Yerba mate tea.

  • Before dinner take apple cider vinegar  (1 tsp-1tbsp in water) and a teaspoon of coconut oil. Eat dinner with enzymes and a salad.

  • Mid evening have a grapefruit.

  • Before bed take L-carnitine and eat protein.
